When people in Tucson think of a happening place, they often think of 4th Avenue. It is only fitting that they do, as it is a historic destination bridging the gap between Downtown Tucson and the University of Arizona. There is a wide array of shops, restaurants, landmarks, housing developments, and other eclectic outlets. Throw in the twice annual 4th Avenue Street Fair, which draws crowds of nearly 300,000, and just about anyone can tell you that 4th Ave has a lot going on. In June 2014, add the Fourth Avenue Food Fest to the mix. Tucson needed a place where you could find local food, music, talent, and art all in one place, more than just a few times a year. Now every week on 4th Ave, you can discover all of that and more, so come on down and savor the stroll.
June 9, 2014 – Arizona Public Media Broadcast – 4th Ave Food Fest
The Food Fest runs along the east side of 4th Avenue, beginning at University Boulevard, and ending at 5th Street. The live music is set up at the corner on 4th Street, near the Cakelab Bakery. Vendors are lined up along 4th Avenue, forming a corridor along the east sidewalk between the vendors and the brick and mortar merchant buildings. Parking is available on the nearby side streets, the easiest being along 3rd Avenue near University.
